Well, we showed up in court yesterday and my wife had to take the stand and state why having guardianship would help her son. She didn't do a half-bad job! :-)
Then the stepson got on the stand and basically called everyone a liar and then lied himself by stating that he was indeed actively attempting to get a job. *rolling eyes*
Then the wife got back up there again and had to say something, but I don't remember what.
The judge asked the stepson if he would submit to a prolonged interview with a real psychiatrist and he said that he would.
So, the judge stated that she wanted more information before she made a decision.
more to come...

Court-day Approacheth
Tomorrow morning at 1000 hrs we will be at the probate court finding out if we have guardianship of the stepson.
Two Thursdays ago, the stepson received the summons to appear in court via the snail mail. He went off! He was yelling that he didn't understand why we were doing this to him; why we were lying, etc. Ultimately, he was worried that we would have him committed for the rest of his life. *rolling eyes*
What he doesn't realize is that if we were just going to wash our hands of him, we would have done so long ago. But then I guess he can't really think outside of his paranoia.
More update after the hearing.
