Within the first week of returning from our trip, we started finding things missing including an envelope that contained ~ $750 in gift cards to Lowes. (Which we had earmarked for a remodel project.)
I lost my cool. Nothing in this house, NOTHING, is safe anymore and I cannot live like this anymore. I have been trying to inspire his mom to deal with Schizo-boy or else get him out of our house over the last two years. This blatant stealing was the last straw and I finally gave her the ultimatum, either HE goes... or I do. (Obviously not the best move but unfortunately it finally came to that.)
His mom woke up and had a mom's tough-love session with her son. He admitted that he hawked our pressure washer for drug money while we were gone. He also admitted that while we away, he had a party with his buddy and a girl. And that she could have stolen the gift cards. *cough* bullshit! *cough*
At any rate, he immediately lost his car, and he either had to immediately seek help for his drug addiction or hit the street. Obviously he was going to pick the former option.
He and his mom researched places for him to get that help and found a short term place near our house that offered a day program. (Not GOOD enough!!) During the last few weeks, he and his mom have been searching for a long term place that he can get better quality help and get his life together.
Just to recap exactly where Schizo-boy is at in life:
1) He's 30 years old.
2) His Schizophrenia is not stable enough for him to actually work.
3) He lives with his mommy.
4) He is a drug addict.
The only way that schizo-boy will continue to be in MY life is:
1) Successfully completes a drug addiction rehabilitation program. (and stays clean!)
2) He works with his Psyche to get his meds correct.
3) and he immediately stops stealing from ANYONE.
Through this whole upset of his perfect little drug-addict's life, he has come dangerously close to having a psychotic episode. He is ultra paranoid now and more importantly cannot keep it in his head. So, he is terrified to be alone with himself, everything that he sees and hears - whether real or not - feeds his paranoia.
He's in a tough spot.
Today, I don't care. I have to protect my own sanity and peace of mind first.
*triple sigh*
