With heavy heart I dictate the final chapter on this blog about Schizophrenia, mental disorders, and Schizo-boy.
On July 18th, 2014, Schizo-boy's mom found him passed away in his room at about 4:43 pm.
In the two weeks leading up to this event, he had contacted his psychiatrist and asked for a stronger dose of his meds stating that they weren't as effective as they used to be.
The dumb-ass psychiatrist told him to come off the meds for 2-4 days and then resume.
Wha WHAAAT!!!! Jesus! She's an idiot! A person suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia is ALREADY mistrustful of the meds. It was a MIRACLE that he was so willing to take them in the first place. ANYWAY!
He came off the anti-psychotic and anxiety meds for four days. On Monday, the 14th, he started back and got his new script for the anxiety pills. He used more on this day and every day after than he normally would because he was just coming back on them and because the next day, he had an appointment with an oral surgeon to have all four of his wisdom teeth removed.
On Tuesday, the 15th, he had the surgery and of course the surgeon gave him a script for pain meds. He got them filled that day.
On Friday, he came up and made some coffee around 7 am then shuffled back down to his room. We never saw him alive again.
*** WARNING! THE GRAPHIC DETAILS***
-Schizo-boy's mom WAILED! It was the most eerie thing I've ever heard.
-I called 911 at 4:45 pm.
-911 had me turn him over.
-He was in Rigor Mortis.
-He had a settle line straight down the center of his body with the blood pooled on his right side.
-The EMTS, cops, et al all showed up in like 6 minutes.
-He was beyond resuscitation at this point.
-The cop counted out the pills that he had taken.
-In less than four days, he had taken 30 of his anti-anxiety pills. (10 days worth of pills)
-In less than three days he had taken 21 of his pain pills for the teeth. (5+ days worth of pills)
-We know, based on how groggy he was the day before that he did not take all of them on that Friday.
-Rigor tells me that he died around 10 am.
-The pooled blood tells me he died while lying on his right side... in bed. Then after he died, his body fell out of the bed and onto the floor.
*** END OF GRAPHIC DETAILS***
Coroner has ruled this to be a probable accidental overdose.
And thus ends the tale of a great person with a troubled mind.
He was hilarious.
He was determined to live despite his thoughts.
He was kind and generous.
He loved his family, despite being misunderstood by his own brothers most times.
Tragic.
*sigh*
Post autopsy update:
Official word is that he died from a heart attack because the arteries supplying his heart were basically completely clogged.
So, he did not overdose in anyway. Instead, it was family history of high cholesterol and long term inactivity that was his killer.
